GP10 - Shape Our Future - is the first combined Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and Australian Association of Practice Managers conference, providing delegates with an exciting opportunity to hear from a number of experts in the much broader general practice and allied healthcare community, featuring a range of local and international guest speakers and topics relevant to healthcare today.

The key themes featured at GP10 include Indigenous health, e-health, sports medicine, rural health, health promotion, the business of medicine and practical tips for students, junior doctors and registrars. These themes reflect the emerging needs and trends in primary care for both general practitioners, practice managers and allied healthcare practitioners and we hope that the conference will truly be a rewarding educational and social experience.

The scientific committee has produced a program to give ample time between sessions for meeting old friends and making new acquaintances - plenaries with eminent speakers who will challenge us to shape our future, and smaller group sessions to follow a special interest. We want to maximise discussion and interaction and have introduced facilitated poster sessions which will allow the audience to discuss a range of issues with authors of a themed group of posters. We have a prominent student and registrar stream, and thank the many people who supported their attendance - they are our future.

Please enjoy yourselves, build on your professional networks and enjoy exploring new approaches to caring for your patients, all while enjoying all that tropical Cairns has to offer. We look forward to meeting many of you and sharing our ideas for the future of multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
